Filling out your work-time records

You can record your working times on this page. By default, this shows the actual month of the actual year. To make the recording easier, when loading the page the system activates the In field of the actual day. In the heading of the page click on the date to select the month you want to edit. Below the date you can see all the working hours, your working hours, the hours you already recorded, and the plus and minus hours your department leader has already verified. Below this you can see whether your working time records were already verified by your department leader. In case your department leader defined projects, you can see the Projects roll-down list, which shows the projects assigned to the letters shown in the project column. You can get a legend and help about the usage by clicking on the Legend/Help button, with the Download button you can download the data in your working times record.

frequently asked questions:

How does the 40 hours per week works out?

40:5=8, which means that we should work 8 hours per day. For going home earlier on Fridays, we work 10 minutes longer on every other days. 4* 8h 10m + 7h 20m = 40h.

I work 8h 30m but the system only accounts for 8h 10m. Why?

The Labour code says that if the working time exceeds 6 hours, the worker is due a 20 min break (lunch break). This break is not a part of the working time, so it is subtracted from the full time spent in the workplace. This break is compulsory for the employer, so the employee can't say, that he or she won't have a lunch break, but will arrive 20 mins later or depart 20 mins earlier.

In case the working time exceeds 9 hours the worker is due another 25 mins break, which is also not a part of the working time. Since the official working time in our Research Centre is since 7:30 till 16:00, this second break is not counted by the program.

There are 22 workdays, but the program shows only 175 hours total, not 176. How can that be?

Since working time isn't the same every day of the week, it is important to take into account what days of the week the month starts and ends. If there are one more fridays in the month that means 40 mins minus, and that causes a discrepancy, especially in the rounded hour-values.
